The exhibition of Sol LeWitt at the Jewish Museum Amsterdam featured four monumental wall drawings, specially recreated for this event. The design of the exhibition emphasized the spatial relationship between LeWitt’s work and the museum’s architecture, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the dynamic interplay of color and form. In addition to the wall drawings, the exhibition included sculptures and artworks on paper, providing a comprehensive view of LeWitt’s oeuvre. The wall drawings were executed by students from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, highlighting a collaborative spirit that reflects LeWitt’s belief that art can be realized through precise instructions rather than solely by the artist’s hand. This aspect of the design not only honors LeWitt’s conceptual approach but also engages a new generation of artists in his legacy.
